As with all writing, writing SEO Optimized blog content requires skill. The time involved to create a piece should not be longer than one hour. To keep readers interested, you should think about the structure of your piece and write appealing articles. To help prospects grasp the core concept of a post, it needs to be correctly structured with headings, subheadings, and clear paragraphs. The general layout helps SEO, as well as readers. Nobody wants to read a long not-structured piece. 2. Simple Way to Conduct Keyword Research.

If you wish to complete this task by yourself, there are 2 possibilities:

  • Answer a question people are actually asking Search Engines.
  • A comment about a trending topic industry relevant – new laws in your area, a recent law case, …

The simplest way is to conduct a simple query such as “Child Custody” in Google. When you scroll at the bottom of the page, Google actually suggests a few searched very relevant topic. In this example, an article could be tailored around “Custody Rights for Mothers” or “Child Custody Arrangements”.

Sometimes, the suggestions aren’t of much help. In this instance, you will need to refine your search. For example, if your specialty is “Conveyancing”, simply conducting this query might not be of any help.

3. Advanced Search.

Another way to proceed for Keyword Research would be to look at what competitors are doing and write a better article. You can always search for “Area of Law + Blog” and check what others are writing about.

Advanced Technique – Use a free keyword research tool such as Answer The Public and scroll through the proposed keywords. Have a look at the matching Volume (which corresponds to the number of monthly searches for this exact term). Do not target high-volumes keyword as it is less likely to rank for once you have created your SEO optimised blog content.

Create A Structure and Write Headings.

Start your post by creating a clear structure. Every SEO optimized blog content should have:

  • Some sort of introduction.
  • Body Content divided into different paragraphs and separated by headings.
  • Conclusion with Call to Action.

Everybody uses paragraphs, but not everybody uses them well. Don’t start each new sentence on a new line, just because it looks nice. There should be a logical reason for starting a new paragraph. Each paragraph should have its own idea or subject.

Headings are not only important for readability but are at the core of any SEO optimized page. Headings help Google to grasp the main topics of a long post.

Write Content and General Tips.

Once the keyword has been chosen, the structure is clear and your headings are ready, it’s time to write your content. Here are a few extra tips on how to proceed that we use on a daily basis:

  • Once you have your keyword, search for what people have already done. You do not always have to come up with fresh content, you can simply re-structure, re-write, re-organize an existing article, adding your own ideas.
    However, DO NOT steal content – Google will detect and penalize if a sentence (even a single one) is exactly copied from elsewhere.
  • Include your keyword in your Article Title, First paragraph sentence and a couple more times in the body of the article.
    A Keyword needs to be written exactly as it is at a certain keyword density(2.5% is a commonly practiced value).
    As instance, “Custody Rights for Mothers” is a different keyword from “Mothers Custody Rights” or “Custody Rights Mothers”.
  • You should aim to have at least 600 words per article but not more than 1200 words. Each paragraph (separated by headings) needs to be no longer than 300 words.
  • It is of good practice to refer to an existing article.
  • Aim to write short clear sentences and use signal words. Sentences longer than 30 words aren’t recommended.
  • Headings and Sub-headings are an absolute must.

As a conclusion, regularly uploading fresh to a website is an indication for Google that your website is well alive and of actuality.

If not, Google will come and visit the site less often which could result in a ranking drop over-time.
